Eduardo Ruiz

I am a Computer Vision Engineer with over 10 years of experience building perception systems for robotic and autonomous platforms. My work spans real-time ML for semantic segmentation and object detection, stereo depth estimation, Visual-Inertial SLAM, and 3D reconstruction. I am particularly interested in Spatial AI and the integration of vision-language models into 3D perception pipelines for autonomous systems.

I currently work on 3D Spatial AI for built environment at DRC. Previously, I spent five years at Beam (formerly Rovco), where I developed and deployed real-time vision and SLAM systems for underwater robotic inspection.

I hold a PhD in Computer Vision from The University of Bristol, where I was advised by Walterio Mayol-Cuevas, an MSc in Machine Learning from the University of Bristol, and a BEng in Mechatronics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico.
